CREATIVE HUBS
We have launched development programmes in different art forms for 10-16 year olds, as part of our mission to increase access to creative pathways and address the lack of diverse representation within creative industries.
This was developed in response to a clear, ongoing message received from young people when showcasing our issue-based productions in schools across London; Inspired to be involved in similar productions themselves, our beneficiaries have expressed the need for a space outside of school in which to develop skills, gain hands-on experience, whilst learning more about the creative education and employment pathways available to them.
The programme we’ve designed brings together all these elements in an accessible, community-based offer for local young people.
DVSS - Diverse Voices of Stage & Screen
Diverse Voices of Stage & Screen (DVSS) is our Waltham Forest based creative hub for local young people who are passionate about drama, film and theatre.
Our weekly Saturday sessions take place across 2 terms
Term 1: Skills Training
Developing acting ability whilst building transferable skills that will enhance young people’s confidence, communication, teamwork, self-expression and creativity.
Term 2: Devising & Industry Masterclass
Using the skills acquired to devise an original short film addressing a relevant topic of the young people’s choice, paired with masterclasses from professionals sharing their industry experience.
