LEARNING PROGRAMMES

Blended Arts Based Learning

Our flagship arts-based learning programmes guide young people on sensitive topics critical to their safety, wellbeing and development such as healthy relationships, bullying, online safety and diversity.

We combine arts based facilitation with the use of our bespoke digital learning platform, incorporating experiential learning through role-play and group discussions, developing transferable skills through drama activities, educating around laws and challenging unhealthy ideologies which lead to harmful behaviours.

The learning is facilitated by our team of arts based practitioners, who have been trained around the topics and are experienced working with young people. The stimulus for the learning is a short film produced by Diverse Voices, which is part of either a complete course delivered by us over regular weekly sessions, or a programme introduced by us in a dropdown day before handing over to the teachers equipped to use our educational arts based resources.

Theatre in education

Diverse Voices uses Theatre in Education (TIE) as a tool for relating to young people, empowering them to make decisions that will bring about positive outcomes in their lives.

The productions are accompanied by workshops that explore the topics raised in the play through interactive activities, designed to accommodate half and full days within schools.

Our theatre pieces are highly educational, whilst still being a fun and engaging way for young people to learn in a safe environment. Using ‘forum theatre’ we give the young people an opportunity to implement what they have learnt in the workshops.

Topics Covered: Bullying, Racism, Peer Pressure , Employability & future aspirations & Diversity

As well as our already established productions, our team are trained to also research and devise original productions to cover any specific issues that you feel need to be addressed with your young people.

Students really engaged with the resource and scenarios that are played out in the film

it prompted some very thought provoking discussion around consent, coercion, self image and the nature of healthy relationships. The talking heads section was particularly popular”.
